Hey everyone! 😉
So I spotted some of the Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow quads at a local Clicks store and decided to grab them. I have used and enjoyed Wet n Wild eyeshadows in the past and wanted to revisit my experience with these.
So basically Wet n Wild took their trios and added a matte transition shade(making them quads), extended the shade range and reformulated the eyeshadows. I purchased the shades Silent Treatment, Hooked On Vinyl and Petalette. The formulation seems to be exactly the same as the old Colour Icon Eyeshadows, which is perfectly fine with me because they are of exceptional quality.
They are creamy, smooth and buttery. They are also very pigmented and blend effortlessly. I did however, experience some fallout with the darkest shades but that’s easily controlled. I apply a heavy layer of translucent powder under the eyes and once the eye makeup is done, I just dust that off or you could apply the eye makeup first, clean up any fallout and then continue with your face makeup.
These quads are very easy to use as each shade is labelled. So if you are a beginner, this will guide you with placement of product. You can achieve anything from simple to extremely dramatic eye looks as they are quite versatile.
I used the Hooked On Vinyl for my eye look and I have been smitten by the shades in this quad, because of their rich and vivid texture. My only complaint with this particular quad is that the transition shade is very light, so if you have a medium to tan skintone or deeper, this shade will barely show up. I did pull in my face bronzer and used it as my transition shade and I’m pleased with the results.
These retail for R79.95 at Clicks stores in South Africa and $2.99 on the wet n wild website. I think that’s super affordable and great value for money especially considering that they are drugstore eyeshadows that are of exceptional quality and pack a huge punch in terms of colour.
I hope you found this post informative. I know it’s been a little while since I posted anything but I’ve been really busy however I’m back now and will be posting more regularly . Have a lovely week and I’ll talk to you guys soon 🙂
