I hope you all had a great weekend. To kick off this week I have a review on a relatively new product, it’s the Maybelline Master Camo Colour Correcting Pens.
There are a total of 6 shades available and each shade has its own unique purpose.
Green: Cancels out redness and is created for all skin tones.
Blue: Neutralizes sallowness and is created for fair to light skin tones.
Pink: Brightens dullness and is created for light skin tones.
Yellow: Brightens dullness and is created for light to medium skin tones.
Apricot: Neutralizes dark circles and is created for light to medium skin tones.
Red: Neutralizes dark circles and is created for deep skin tones.
I purchased the apricot and red shades to help cancel out my dark circles and any pigmentation/darkness on my skin around the mouth and any other blemishes. I have frequently used the apricot shade and it has worked perfectly for my skin tone, however I was intrigued by the red shade . So I tried it out and it worked just as well, especially on days when you need the extra help.
The product is thick in texture but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all. It is very pigmented and goes on opaque, so I use a small amount and I blend it out.
The pen format is super easy to use, simply twist the bottom of the pen until the product is visible on the cushioned tip applicator. The applicator is very precise and soft so it can blend the product in small areas like around the nose and inner corners of the eyes easily.
Once applied and blended, the product sets and doesn’t move around or bleed into my foundation. Bear in mind that due to this being such a highly pigmented product it would be suitable to use a medium to full coverage foundation so that you don’t see the corrector through the foundation.
I purchased these at my local Dischem Pharmacy for R169.95
I think this is an essential and awesome product. It works well on my skin tone and I like the packaging. I do feel it’s necessary to colour correct instead of piling on multiple layers of foundation and concealer and at this price it is affordable. I will definitely be trying the yellow shade next 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this review. If you have tried the Maybelline colour correcting pens let me know your thoughts.
Have a blessed week!!!
